Oh man, a Microsoft (M$) MVP! What should I expect from this kind of person. Man, get a life and read some books, you are just a damn piece of the Matrix!

I thought the problem with stealing is that there is an injured (or stolen from) party. The music industry is doing great, 90% of music downloaded is done so illegally. Money is still being spent on music. People are going to more concerts and the music people are downloading is stuff they would not pay for anyway.

There is a video from the editor of wired I watched on their website, if it's not their it'll be on youtube somewhere I'm sure, he's also wrote a book about it. going into detail about the above.

This situation is very different from stealing a car. And as a Canadian judge ruled, is far more like photocopying a page from a book in a library.

a good, well thought out article and hits almost all nails on the head. However I do disagree on one point, that being the UI being no mean hardship for a user past ten minutes. You obviously have never watched a pensioner who struggled but endured xp attempt to adapt to the new UI.

To not have a "classic option" dotted in the relevent places is a little unthoughtful really. I'm more the adept with using various operating systems and for the most part have dealt with the UI change. While I prefered a classic start menu I am okay with the new style. But to not at least include the tickbox to disable program scrolling miffed me. It's not a lot to ask really imo.

Remember some people struggle like hell with computers, it's like an alien concept to them. Microsoft could cater for these people a little more sometimes. I was equally disapointed in this regard when they started shuffling the UI and folder locations in Vista because to me it didn't render them more accessible, it was just something else to remember everytime the computer got turned on. For me a minor gripe but for older generations it's a huge turnoff.

# re: On Open Box Special Surprises, and what to know before returning your new camera.

Thursday, April 01, 2010 1:37 PM by Johanna Hoffmann

Very interesting situation. My thoughts/comments in not particular order:

The onus is always on each of us to protect our privacy. We can do a lot; then we hope the powers that be - i.e. government, credit card companies retailers - do their best to secure the confidential information they are given.

Connection between senior management, front line troops and training. I'm not a lawyer, but I think that if you had sold the video footage you accidentally acquired or been infected and exposed to fraud, you would a. be probably sued by the couple and b. have a case against the store. You wonder if corporate counsel has foreseen that eventuality? If they have then you wonder whether they formulated a policy to deal with the issue. And if they did, have they communicated the policy down to managers & front line troops? Doesn't sound like they have done any of it...Maybe corporate counsel is a dinosaur who is barely familiar with technology.

Danger lurks in the most unexpected areas. Your blog post reminded me of an article in the Toronto Star about a similar situation with the hard drive & memory in photocopying machines. They interviewed a tech at a leasing company who explained that almost every machine that is returned at the end of the lease has a memory full of images of all the documents scanned & copied over the course of the lease - contracts, lawsuits, employee reviews - you name it. No one thinks or reformatting the hard drive of the photocopier - just like few people think of reformatting the hard drive of a video camera...

I had thought of doing a blog post about the copier. Now I'll do the blog post for sure and add your story to it as well.

I was listening to the news tonight, PBS no less, and one of the reporters used the term "more healthy" instead of the correct term, which is "healthier".

This trend started in the 80's and TV journalists are the worse. Rant and Rave... but it will not do any good.

Whether I like it or not the usage of the English language is changing. Unlike French, English is a language that is constantly changing.

Hi there,

I am an IT professional and am quite heavily involved in Virtualization, however have little experience in VMWare and XenApp and Citrix as a whole. All my experience is based on HyperV. As this is a fairly new technology relatively speaking, I have about as much experience on it as I can. I have been building HyperV clusters for clients for some time now and feel that I am becoming a bit of a specialist. Some of the time we build the clusters on SAS storage, at other times SANs so I feel - from that perspective I should be relatively well prepared. I would like to increase my worth, not only to my current employer, but also to potential employers and I think this qualification will be a good next step. I have been involved primarily with security and networking in the past and feel that this will make me a more well rounded engineer - with an eye on becoming an Architect. Do you think this is a reasonable way yo go in terms with Microsoft qualification? Also, I know when a qualification is new within the realm of MS, it is very difficult to find training material.

Do you have any ideas for me?

# re: Basic Customer Service?

Wednesday, July 28, 2010 2:08 PM by DaveN

FYI re McDonald's coffee: the woman was about 80 years old, and had 3rd degree burns that required skin grafts.  She was in the hospital for over a week and weighed about 80 lbs at the end of treatment. McDonalds had been asked repeatedly and even sued about the temperature of the coffee.  The woman asked them to pay her medical bills and only sued when they refused.  And she got less than $600K.

That case has been a rallying cry for US tort reformers, but it's really a bad example - probably most people who knew all the facts would think mickey's deserved to lose.

I restaurants, transportation and housing you need to make your feelings known.  Sometime owners and managers are absent and do not know the image their employees are projecting.  Management needs to know because a bad impression sticks and businesses do fail when there is poor customer relations.  I make my impressions known through surveys, direct contact and contacting their franchise office.

Same thing here. Total image size is 31 MB, and I set this up with Windows 7 32 bit., Windows 7 64 bit and XP(I would expect it to be 'slightly' bigger.). Are you still monitoring this blog? The only thing I have done differently than your tutorial is that I DID include the key, since these are all enterprise licenses, and I skipped the part about adding any new software or drivers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
