I finished my book last night, so I asked the front desk clerk where I could find a bookstore. ‘Oh, there’s one in one of the shopping centres around here. I’m not sure which one.’ Her assistant, ever the yes-man, confirmed that there is indeed a bookstore in one of the (seventeen) shopping centres in the immediate vicinity.
