An Introduction to Windows 8: Mitch on Halton Tech TV
I am surprised that with all the hype and talk I have been doing about Windows 8, I have not blogged about this yet. Halton Tech TV is a show on our regional cable network in the Oakville/Burlington/Milton area that focuses on different technologies. Hosted by Robert Duvall of RDC Networks, it brings the newest…

Pass the Word…
How often do you change your online passwords? If you are like the vast majority of us then the answer is not nearly often enough. Until recently I fell into the same category, and fixing that took a little bit of doing. One day several months ago I looked at Theresa and said ‘I think…

The Great One Comes to Microsoft Store!
I have to admit that not even my influence could get me to the front of the line to meet (and play Kinect with) The Great One, Number 99 Wayne Gretzky. I did, however, get close enough to take a couple of pictures of him playing the game, and wanted to share them with you!…

If you are in or around the Greater Toronto Area this week-end then there is no better place to be than the Microsoft Store in Yorkdale Mall. Same Scam, Different Source
Earlier this year I wrote an article for Oakville.com earlier this year on an on-line scam (Another Scam). I remembered it a few minutes ago when I got the same phishing e-mail from an aunt in California, who unfortunately got mugged on an unannounced surprise trip to Manila. Of course, my aunt is not in…

Tim Hortons Hears a Hypocrite
I want to be clear that I feel for people with allergies… I really do. With that being said, I think the following conversation I had on Saturday to be entirely ridiculous: (Woman at Tim Hortons): What can I get for you? Me: I’d like a toasted bagel with peanut butter. WaTH: Anything else? Me:…

Get onto my Cloud… a Colossal Contest!
In the past I have had a few contests that have had pretty good response – I have given away some decent prizes, and I know a lot of people have really enjoyed it. Now, in honour of this blog’s 100,000th hit (Achieved October 30!) I am launching a new contest in conjunction with the…

Jabra GO!
I don’t spend a lot of time working in my office at home, which is why it took me this long to discover this amazing feature of my Jabra Go 6470. The 6470 is, of course, a great Bluetooth earpiece that works both with my cellular phone and computer. Last month I wrote about how…

A Leaked Ad pitting Surface versus iPad? I don’t think so…

A Truly Energized Post: Sean’s experience buying his Microsoft Surface
This post was sent to me by the original Energized Tech and former Friday Funny Guy. Sean Kearney is not only a Microsoft MVP (PowerShell), he is a good friend and certainly among the most passionate technology enthusiasts and Microsoft fans I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Sean will be assisting me at…

Another Humbling Accolade
People may find it weird, but every time one person reads my blog I am thrilled. It is why (when I have the time) I follow the hit counts on both The World According to Mitch and the Canadian IT Pro Connection religiously. It isn’t about ego (although I do suppose it is a bit…

Copy and Move Re-envisioned for Windows 8
Windows 8 has a ton of small changes that are making my life easier. From time to time I find myself copying lots of files from one place to another; not as often mind you as when I was a partition fan, but it still happens. One of the new features I am happy with…
